April 23/24, 2010 - HARMONICA SHAH w.
JACK DE KEYZER & BAND

HARMONICA SHAH "rode the dog" all the way up from Detroit to join the great JACK DE KEYZER (fresh off his 2010 Juno Award win for Best Blues CD Of The Year) for a 2 night stand at BLUES ON THE RIDEAU @ THE COVE INN, Westport last weekend and their performances left the crowd literally blown away.

Backed by consummate bass man/Producer Alec Fraser and dynamite drummer Al Cross (Big Sugar, Great Big Sea) the band tore it up all night long to the great pleasure of sold out crowds (both nights). The Shah's vocals and unique lyrics (you gotta love any artist who writes songs like "If You Don't Leave I'll Get Somebody Who Will") combined with his unique harmonica licks (alternatively, wailing, trilling, piercing, blowin' and flowin') and Jack's incomparable guitar work made this a couple of very magical nights. Motown meets Hogtown!

“What a fantastic group of musicians. Jack de Keyzer is awesome. Great evening, great fun – as always!”
Joan Mumford, Kingston (she and husband Greg have attended over 12 BOTR @ The Cove shows)

“The food, the service and the music were fabulous!” Marilyn Benn, Ottawa (first timer)

“My wife and I enjoyed the Harmonica Shah/Jack de Keyzer show immensely and were happy to make the 750 mile round trip to see it. Great crowd. Super music. The place was jumpin’! Kate and I get around a bit for live music, and we both agreed that Saturday night at the Cove was one of the best nights out we've had in 40 years. Everything was perfect. The owner was gracious, the staff worked their tails off, the food was great, the price of the night was amazing, the crowd was super and The Shaw and co. were awesome. On the drive home Monday, we commented that it almost seemed surreal. We’ll definitely be back!
Tom & Kate Stutzman, Reading Pennsylvania
(BIG Harmonica Shah fans who have a summer cottage nearby but made the trip specifically for this Show – first but not last timers!)

$590 was raised for Westport In Bloom and $560 for Habitat For Humanity

And the good news is that Andrew Galloway from ElectroFi Records www.electrofi.com – with the help of Tim Greencorn and Mark Evans from Little Chicago Sound Company – was there to record it all. Can't wait to hear the CD (target release date sometime early next year) - HARMONICA SHAH LIVE AT THE COVE – with Special Guest JACK DE KEYZER. Even the raw tracks sound awesome. The cozy, intimate setting at The Cove provides great acoustics.
Watch for it. This will be one CD every blues lover will want to have in their collection.
